Charlotte’s Joe Jaspers won a spot in the Wyndom Championship pre-qualifying event with his five stroke victory over Corey Nagy in the Carolina AM Sunday at Northstone Country Club. Jaspers made three birdies on the back nine to overtake Nagy, who led by a stroke at the turn.
If Jaspers can survive the August 13th pre-qualifying event at Bryan Park near Greensboro, he will be in the Monday qualifer with a shot to play the PGA tour event in Greensboro.

The Carolina AM is a
- two day
- 36 hole stroke play golf tournament
- for amateurs only.
To qualify amateurs must have a 6.3 handicap index or less. The summer event is held annually.
